Conil is a "white" fishing village directly by the sea, which fortunately was able to preserve a large part of its Andalusian charm. It is characterized by international and Spanish tourism - and is visited all year round, especially by the many language students of the two popular local schools.
Here you will find small, winding houses and narrow, flower-decorated alleys where you can stroll comfortably. The wide and very long sandy beach "Los Bateles", which is never overcrowded even in midsummer, adjoins the city area in a south-westerly direction. There is a lively pub culture here all year round. In summer, bars with Spanish and international music open in Andalusian courtyards, and a public cultural programme including flamenco performances is offered at the Torre Guzman square.
Conil is one of the places with the most sunshine hours per year in Europe. However, thanks to the Atlantic winds, it never gets unbearably hot - the highest temperatures are measured in August, when the thermometer often exceeds 30 degrees during the day. Nevertheless, at night it becomes pleasantly bearable with lowest temperatures around 20 degrees.
